Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway and the National Racing Network announced an expansion of their existing partnership, to now include live streaming of all weekly races on the network beginning on June 29. All five weekly divisions will be included in the streams, plus a complete pre-race show. “While most tracks are hiding their content behind a paywall, Lanco’s Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway is truly being a game changer in delivering their racing to the masses,” NRN Executive Producer Chris Graham said. “Statistics show that the core fan will still come out to experience the show, but new audiences can be engaged from around the world. For the track’s sponsors, teams, and drivers, this is an all-around win,” Graham added.
Zach Light, the club’s Vice President and a driver in the 600cc division said, “We have some of the best racing in the country for micro sprints going on at our facility. The more people we can showcase the racing to, the better it will be for everyone involved at Lanco.”
Each week’s live content will include the pre-race show, plus every heat and feature race at the 1/8 mile bullring in Newmanstown, PA. “This new initiative is truly a seismic shift in how race fans will have access to content. The days of hiding mediocre racing behind a paywall are over. The racing at The Clyde is some of the best in the country week in and week out; and we know that the local fans who watch the races online will absolutely make a visit out to live the excitement that is Lanco,” Graham opined. When asked about how offering a free livestream can help grow the facility; Light said, “Sponsors will be able to tune in and watch from wherever they are. I have a lot of friends who can’t make it to the track every week. With the live stream, they will be able to watch from anywhere. I think it will also help draw new fans to the track. It’s a nice way to introduce people to the sport. In my mind, it’s a win-win.”
The longtime voice of the Speedway, Barry Angstadt, will handle the play by play duties; while Graham will serve as streaming host. Angstadt said of the news, “We have been working with NRN for almost a year now, and it’s been great, and also very rewarding for the track, to build that relationship. This is the next step, and it’s a big one, but we are ready and really excited to live stream our events so people everywhere can LIVE the excitement that is Lanco!”
Presenting sponsorship has been secured with WSL Incorporated and 600cc Performance. A full highlights package will also be produced following the conclusion of the races. Each livestream will see the track’s Facebook page as its initial point of distribution; with simulcasts showing on the NRN social channels and website as well.
