Newmanstown, PA (May 18) - The music playing over the p.a. system should have been Rhythm n' Blues, because R&B ruled the clay on Armed Forces Night at Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway.
Mike Rutherford picked up his second win of 2019 in the Hyper Racing 600 Sprint main, while Bradley Brown found victory lane in the Viper Chassis 270cc feature.

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. On an Easter Eve Saturday night, Heath Hehnly was both, and the result was a first win of the season in the Hyper Racing 600 Sprint main event at Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway.
Newmanstown, PA (April 13) - Chances are, if Mike Rutherford went out for some ice cream on Sunday, he ordered a triple dip of his favorite flavors. That's because Saturday night produced a triple-victory effort by the Lititz, Pa. racer at Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway.
Jerry Reed sang "When You're Hot, You're Hot" and Rutherford was absolutely sizzling on RTS Chassis/ First Responders Night at the Clyde. His trifecta of triumphs included the Hyper Racing 600 checkered flag, the Viper Chassis 270's, and the Sportsman Class' 25-lap main event.
Newmanstown, PA (April 7) - Put Alex Bright in any type of racecar at Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway, and chances are he will steer it straight to the winner's circle. Hollywood could not have scripted it any better. On Saturday night at Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway, a pair of point championships (600cc and 270cc) were decided exactly as they should have been - on the track, with the combatants involved in each point chase duking it out with each other, along with the rest of the field, in some scintillating season finales at the Newmanstown, PA oval.
Night Two of the Labor Day Shootout, presented by Hyper Racing, took place in Newmanstown, PA. It's been a season of "race less, win more" for Brian Carber, and his victories have come in events that offer a lucrative payday to the winner. While he's won a couple wingless 270cc A-Mains over the past few years, Kyle Spence drove to his first winged 600 Sprint victory in Lanco's Labor Day Shootout presented by Bud's Sprint Service on Saturday night at Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway. The triumph was the third 600cc win of the season for the driver from Bear, DE.
"I really wanted to add a winged 600 win (in the Shootout) to my list," said Spence. "It's a big race, one of the biggest in this area, and it's nice to be able to check it off the list of races I want to win."
Kenny Groff Trucking sponsored a fantastic night of racing at Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway on Saturday, August 25, with three of the five main events featuring two- and three-car tussles for the win while a pack of hungry wolves fought for positions throughout the top ten. When the season enters its "stretch run" and the summer sun is at its hottest, Mike Rutherford always seems to hit the "GO" button at Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway.
That was the case during Saturday's Mongoose Chassis Night at the Newmanstown, PA speedway, when Rutherford visited victory lane not once, but twice, scoring victories in the Hyper Racing 600 and Viper Chassis 270 main events. Both races were exciting events that saw Rutherford mired in heavy lapped traffic while a large pack of hungry racers battled ferociously for positions two through ten behind him. The 600cc main went non-stop (took just over 4-minutes, 37-seconds to complete), while the 25-lapper for the 270's had only two cautions slowing the event.
Newmanstown, PA (August 11) - A season's worth of struggle went out the window on Saturday night for Chris Panczner, when the driver from Elverson, PA combined some good speed with some good luck. Kyler Heiney was the 125cc winner, his fifth checkered flag of the year in that division.
Newmanstown, PA (August 4) - It was a race that had more plot twists, along with many incredible action sequences, than most motion pictures or television shows. There were comebacks from adversity, heroic moves that tested the fences, and, when the checkered flag finally waved to end the terrific event, there was a winner who set a record.

Newmanstown, PA (July 14) - At the end of the 2017 racing season, Heath Hehnly said he'd had enough of being a weekly competitor. Newmanstown, PA (June 30) - It took him until the last day of June, but Bradley Brown finally got the monkey off his back and won a Hyper Racing 600 Sprint main event at Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway. But it certainly didn't come easy for the driver from New Providence, PA...but that just made the triumph that much sweeter.
