Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway Hosts It’s Annual Two-Day Event

By Tim Bortz & Barry Angstadt

Newmanstown, PA (August 26) - The best racing/party weekend of the season....the Lanco Labor Day Shootout presented by Hyper Racing!

The weekend starts on Saturday, August 31st with the winged portion of the Shootout. The Hyper Racing 600, Viper Chassis 270, Sportsman, 125/4 Stroke and Restricted 600 classes will compete in a full program of rim-riding, slide job throwing race event

On Sunday, September 1st, there will not be a wing in sight as the Hyper Racing 600s, Viper Chassis 270s, 4 Stroke/125s will remove the wings for a jaw dropping, edge of your seat wingless racing action. The Sunday portion will also have the All Star Slingshots invade the Clyde.

The 4 Stroke and 125 will run together in challenge events on both Saturday and Sunday of the Shootout.

The 600 & 270 Sprints will race for $1,000 to win, provided there are 40 or more cars entered in each class. A 30-car field will result in a $700 winner’s paycheck.

The 600’s and 270’s (with more than 24 cars entered) will use the passing point format with heats, qualifiers, B-Mains and a 30 lap A-Main.

The Sportsman, 125/4-Strokes, and Slingshots will run heats, B-Mains (if necessary), and a 30-lap feature. A revenge draw will be utilized to determine the top 12 starting spots in the feature for each of these three divisions.

Complete details, including payout scale (based on car count), tentative order of events, passing points chart, etc. can be found at www.clydemartinspeedway.com. Click on the event “Labor Day Shootout” at the top of the home page.
